Biltes Koleji, Sadabad, Kağıthane

By offering an enriched education to children diagnosed as gifted with the 9-12 Age Group - Summer School Workshop Programs; to enable them to discover themselves and their families' children.

Robotics

With the robotics workshop, students are basically guided to think and learn. During the training period specified in the workshop, students will be informed about the parts and usage areas of robots, and then an infrastructure will be created for this area. Today, robots, which have become more influential especially in recent years, and even appear among the active elements of the future, have become one of the concepts that everyone, especially children, is curious about. Thanks to the technologies available in our workshop, children will be able to learn by seeing and having fun that the concepts they imagine in a technological sense can actually come true, how the robots that most children can think of abstractly until today are made, their production processes and how they are programmed. In the robotics lesson, where our students will enjoy, the robot will be defined, the importance of robotics will be discussed, many information such as where robots are used in the world and robot types are given, and the aim of the workshop is to equip students with robotics and make a difference among their peers. Within the scope of the course, ready-made sets or ardunio are used in line with the readiness of the students. The majority of gifted children are children who think analytically, are interested in technology and have the potential to create. In this workshop, by giving both hardware and software information about robots; It is aimed to increase the interest and knowledge of children in science and technology.

STEM

STEM is an interdisciplinary teaching approach that emerged from the needs of the 21st century. The concept of STEM consists of the initials of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics disciplines and ensures the integration of these fields in education. In its simplest definition, the aim of STEM is to provide students with a holistic perspective; to enable them to think multidimensionally and to take them to production. STEM studies are carried out in the most ideal way by carrying out project-based studies. STEM requires both knowledge of many different disciplines and the integration of this knowledge in line with a purpose. Gifted children prefer mentally challenging activities, and they mostly complain about the repetition of the same information in schools or normal education environments. While STEM challenges the child with the knowledge it requires in different fields, it also enables him to think at a higher level. In the age of science and technology, STEM is no longer just a discipline to us; It teaches thinking by considering all disciplines.

Archaeology

Archeology is the most important science that provides the connection between the past and the present. On the one hand, it provides students with the opportunity to examine cultural changes, make intercultural comparisons and shed light on history, on the other hand, it provides an increase in their general culture. Gifted children are interested in ancient civilizations and historical artifacts; they are usually students who are curious about the way of life of these civilizations, their settlements and the goods they used. The aim of this course is what is archeology and what is not? Starting with answering the question; Exciting topics such as archaeological settlements, auxiliary sciences of archeology, ages and the seven wonders of the world will be discussed. By making small excavation applications, painting, matching and piece whole activities; With the help of the archeological films and documentaries watched, students will be able to internalize the archeological knowledge.

Drama

Drama is the expression of a thought with body language, movement and movement. In other words, drama; It is an education method that enables people to develop versatilely by putting themselves in the shoes of others, to take an active role in education and training, to express themselves, to increase their desire and desire for research, to be creative and to perceive life in a multi-dimensional way. Drama is one of the most effective educational methods in terms of 'learning by doing'. In this workshop where educational and creative drama are used together; warming and relaxation activities, pantomime and role playing, improvisation, formation and evaluation stages are followed respectively. As gifted children's IQ increases, they experience difficulties in social relations; for this reason, this group often chooses to isolate itself from society. In this workshop, children will be provided with a comfortable environment through drama activities, and awareness will be raised on their ability to recognize emotions, look at events from a different perspective, empathize, and effective communication skills.

Creative Thinking

Strategic thinking is necessary to foresee the future, to take the necessary steps now, to create a vision for the future. According to a study, only three out of 10 professionals can think strategically. However, strategic thinking is necessary for the emergence of a creative and innovative planning. Strategic thinking is a skill that can be developed and gained as a result of difficult decisions and difficult experiences. Gifted children are usually quite good at strategizing because their thinking skills develop early. However, the child's strategic thinking ability can be further improved by informing the child about the components of this skill, giving the child responsibility, and providing the child with experience in forming a strategy. For this reason, in this workshop, children's attitudes and behaviors such as strategy development, planning, reasoning, attention and concentration, digesting defeat, and decision-making will be developed mostly through chess and intelligence games.

Art

The aim of the art education given to the child; It should be to develop the social, emotional, mental and physical characteristics of the child, to increase his creativity, to develop original thought and aesthetic understanding, to provide pleasure and emotional relaxation and to teach sharing. Apart from being used for this purpose, art should aim to improve communication between teacher-child, school administration-child, child-child or child and other teachers in educational environments. Learning, including art, becomes more enjoyable for children. For both pre-school and school-age children, schools should be transformed from being an environment where students are forced to learn only by listening, reading and writing, and where rote understanding is accepted, and should be transformed into a place where children go with pleasure. Artistic activities to be carried out as a family at home affect the quality of the relationship between family members and children.

Our Family Trainings

Gifted Education Network is a structure that cares about family education and therefore offers 3-session free training in addition to 12-week student training. Because it is known that as families change and develop, this situation reflects very positively on children, especially with these trainings, it is aimed to answer your family's questions and support their problems. It has been demonstrated by many studies that parents and their attitudes have a serious effect on achievement and overall academic achievement in different disciplines, from mathematics to foreign languages, from science to engineering (Bicknell, 2014; Turner, Chandler, & Heffer, 2009; Başol & Zabun, 2014; Bingham, Jeon ,Ah Kwon & Lim, 2014; Perera, 2014; Garn1, Matthews & Jolly, 2010). Effective families know that they will make a positive difference in their children's lives and therefore participate in their children's lives at a high level (Hoover-Dempsey et al., 1992).

Other Details About Our Summer School Program

Goal

By offering an enriched education to children diagnosed as gifted; to enable them to discover themselves and their families' children.

The first step of talent training is the discovery and recognition of talents. While our summer and winter schools offer you the opportunity to get to know your child, with the programs they offer, the observations of our teachers, and the world-renowned standard tests they apply; on the other hand, it gives children the chance to spend time with science, art and sports in a fun way. In our programs, children's potential is challenged and their cognitive development is supported.

Our difference

This program is the first "gifted education program" organized by three different institutions. The combination of 15 years of experience of different experts in the field, and the competent teaching staff in the field of academic and practice constitute our biggest difference. Programs are prepared by consulting at least three different experts, and students are ensured to enjoy all workshops. Education is not only offered to students; parents are guided.
